What was life before Lady Gaga? My favourite parts are Gaga in brand-new McQueen that was on the runway like, 2 weeks ago? And the relaxation pods/coffins? Okay, the whole thing is my favourite.
I think Lady Gaga is pretty much the only (mainstream) person in 2009 giving us anything new or interesting in entertainment. Maybe her music is not my thing but I don't even care - she's more of a space robot Madonna Barbie than a musician, right?
The other day my boyfriend told me that I am the only one who loves Gaga and that our friends just pretend to like her to my face to avoid making me feel bad. Ha. YOU CAN'T EVER MAKE ME FEEL BAD ABOUT GAGA!
Updated to add: White Lightning expressed my thoughts perfectly on the subject: "If you love fashion, and don't love GAGALOO TOO..then you don't get the joke, you don't get the fun, you don't get the THING. You don't have to love the music (bad move) but you have to LOVE THE LOVE."

ok...don't know how I feel about this. I kind of dislike the fact that she is all about image etc...because if you just hear her songs on the radio they aren't very interesting...it just all seems kind of fake to me? I don't know...it's just very very contrived...but I guess she could just be another popstar dressing and acting like everyone else, so it's nice to see something different. At the same time, I don't really believe it..?

I think that's why she is so cool though-she is just taking what every pop star does and turning it up x 1000 and really not taking herself seriously at ALL!
Also, have you seen her speech at the gay rights rally in DC? Amazing.

ive seen video of her performing at open mics just a few years ago, looking dull and drab, doing led zeppelin covers. what shes doing now is revolutionary, but only in 2009 terms, so not too extreme. best of 2009 mainstream pop, yes , agreed

I agree with you completely. I love Gaga and I love what she is bringing to the world of entertainment right now. It's about time somebody stepped up and dared to make a statement again. She's bold and brilliant.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing her perform live in December.
the song is freaking terrible! but the video is infinitely watchable for the mental fashion, the vanessa beecroft on spaceroids girls doing the freak dancing and that ending?? bonkers!! i'm kind of new to lady gaga, i saw her in fashion mags before i even knew she was a mainstream "pop" star! ( i don't follow mainstream music too much). i think she's a loveable, positive maniac who has an interesting look-- i like that her face isn't typically and boringly pretty.
